MASSOB denies any deliberation on Anambra election

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has described as falsehood allegation of the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Political Matters, Comrade Arinze Awogu, to the effect that MASSOB and other pro Biafra groups deliberated on the November 8 governorship election in the state.

The group in a press statement made available to The AUTHORITY warned that people should not take their simplicity and respect for granted.

The document authored by Comrade Ugwuoke Ibem Ugwuoke, National Secretary of MASSOB, added that, “Arinze Awogu (SSA) on political matters, as a pioneer member of leadership of MASSOB and other Biafra movements when this current non-violence struggle started in September 1999, demanded for an interaction with his fellow comrades, with the respect bestowed on him as a pioneer comrade.

His appeal to interact with pro Biafra groups were granted. The issue of Anambra State election was not discussed though Arinze Awogu raised it. The leadership of the Pro Biafra groups present at the interactive meeting told Arinze Awogu that we can’t discuss Anambra election”, the statement added.

“Because 1st October deadline of Arewa quit notice order to the people of Biafra residing in Arewa land raised more concerns to us than Anambra Governorship Election which is more internal, we insisted that Anambra Governorship Election is secondary with not much worry compared to imminent dangers of the quit notice order which Ndigbo residing in Arewa land are being deceived by their selfish and insensitive leaders that recklessly assuring them of safety in Arewa land.
