What is Lettuce:

Lettuce ( Lactuca sativa ) is an annual plant of the daisy family, Asteraceae . It is most often grown as a leaf vegetable, but sometimes for its stem and seeds. Lettuce is most often used for salads, although it is also seen in other kinds of food, such as soups, sandwiches and wraps; it can also be grilled.

Lettuce is another food item, it cure's and prevents the following.

1.   Lettuce contains a sleep - inducing substance called lectularius which enhances sound sleep. The juice taken prior to bed time will help in this area. It can be administered to children.

2.   Anaemia treatment. It is useful in the recovery of the blood lost during delivery, it contains a reasonable amount of iron. It I'd much needed during pregnancy because of its rich content in folic acid and folate which fatal malfunction.

3.   For treating constipation. It is rich in cellulose fiber, which enhance good bowel movement.

4.   It's a good remedy for treatment of diabetes since it controls the blood sugar level

5.   Lettuce also rich in carotene (vitamin A) which prevents development of cancer-tumor.
