Another bomb explosion hits Maiduguri

At least, 7 persons have been killed
while several others injured when
another bomb blast hit Maiduguri
market on Sunday.
Speaking to DAILY POST in
Maiduguri on Sunday, leader of the
Ngamboru market traders
association, Mallam Audu Yakuba
said 7 people were killed with
several others seriously injured in
the explosion.
The suicide attack hit Ngamboru
market less than 24 hours after 30
people were reported to have been
killed on Saturday in a mosque near
Monday market.
According to Mallam Audu, the
Sunday afternoon attack was another
shock as, ” the last time we heard
that about 600 suicide bombers
were planning to get into Maiduguri,
we have been very vigilant, but you
see, when something like this wants
to happen, one cannot know. This is
very unfortunate. It is our hope that
the new government would bring
this Boko Haram problem to an end.”
Another trader, Umar Maikaji told
our correspondent that, the
explosion which occurred around
1:00pm left many traders injured. ”
I saw four corpses and many persons
were injured. I saw one injured
person without an arm, another
without his legs. The explosion
according to some people was
suspected to have been buried near
the spot where charcoal traders sell
coal but some people claimed it was
a suicide bomber.”
Other traders who, spoke to our
correspondent are beginning to
blame the government. Usman Sani
said, ” With the recent attacks and
bomb blast, government should have
taken drastic action since the first
attack, but we are not seeing what
we are expecting from this
government. We need action from
the government and the sooner, the
better for everybody.”

Tijuana Kalamu said, ” let
government open the Maiduguri
Airport so that more soldiers can
come and rescue us from these
insurgents. In fact, we are expecting
that by now, with the declaration of
our new president, soldiers would
have been seen taking control of the
state. It is time for serious search in
Maiduguri because so many of these
Boko Haram members are in town”
